Arranged by Derrick Deutsch, "The Deutsch Trumpet Method Book I" is designed to introduce the young player to songs as quickly as possible to make it fun and interesting to play and practice. The method book contains solos, duets, and trios. The book can be used for private instruction or can be used in a group or class setting for ensemble playing.
The songs are placed in order of expanding range with each succeeding song. By the end of the book, the range has progressed to a G above the staff. Different versions of the same song are included to introduce more complex or difficult concepts (e.g., rhythm, range).
The songs should also be used to introduce phrasing, dynamics, articulation, breath control, sight reading, and lip flexibility. This book can be used as a stand-alone method book, or used primarily as a song book.
